The idea of travelling around the world has become an innovative experience thanks to the bunch of new travel ventures emerging in the country. Courtesy these startups, consumers are able to discover even little gems distributed across the globe. The idea of custom tours of cities have encouraged people to give wings to their passion of travelling. Founders of these ventures are generally travel enthusiasts and urge like minded ones to follow the same. We had covered many such travel ventures before like Go Travelling and Holidayen among others. But Acamor is looking to create custom experiences for students to promote an alternative approach of learning by providing exciting out-of-classroom educational programs. Acamor is an online travel company that caters to the new age exploratory traveler. It brings a host of organized trips from across the world, ensuring the highest quality of service and a choice of destinations to suit all kinds of travel budgets. The idea was conceived by a group of travel enthusiasts who have traveled to more than 30 countries between themselves. Acamor has two wings of operations: Acamor Journeys and Acamor Academy. Acamor Journeys has a number of offerings for travellers looking for offbeat or unexplored destinations and for theme-based experiential travel destinations.
Acamor Academy is a new idea conceptualised few months ago and is designed exclusively for the students. This concept is based on experiential out-of-classroom learning programs for students. In our conversation Charanya Chidambaram, VP of marketing said “Acamor Academy is looking forward to add a new dimension to learning. We feel the environment around us is very dynamic, with a lot of concepts that are changing on a regular basis. Students should be able to figure out how these things function. By encouraging them to move out of classrooms, we enrich their skills to visualize and learn from their surroundings.” The programs involve exclusive theme-specific journeys that take students into stimulating environments across the world. These journeys will give students an opportunity to bridge the gap between classrooms learning and global experiences.
To execute their idea the startup has initiated talks with many institutes and schools, and have received a positive response from them. Acamor Academy is looking to organize summer camps and trips to induce learning at an early stage of the students’ life. The first of these programs has a focus on sport and will be conducted in South Africa in October 2013.
