Ayojak is a Pune based event ticketing company that was founded in 2009 by Santosh Panda and Ashok Kumar. In an announcement today, Ayojak raised has raised funding from Rajan Anandan, Ravi Gururaj & others from HBS Alumni Angels, Blume Ventures, Srijan Capital and Kishore Warrier. The amount has not been disclosed but the whole process took around 4 months to close. Ravi Gururaj will be joining the board of Directors of Ayojak.
The majority of the investment will be used to launch new products to serve segments such as training & educational institutions, seminars, workshops, lifestyle activities, last minute tickets, adventurous trips and social activities. Also, part of the investment will go towards providing solutions for last-mile services such as entry management and Box-Office.
Ayojak has seen good growth in the recent past with 425+ events in Q3 FY 2012 vs 381 events in the entire FY 2010-11. Delving into the numbers, Santosh informed that ‘sports’ has been the fastest growing event category while ‘business & education’ topped the charts.
Currently based out of Pune, Ayojak plans to expand and setup office in New Delhi and Mumbai soon.
